COVID-19 Guidelines and Policies for Applause Dance Factory

COVID-19 Masked Wedding Couple at Applause Dance Factory

COVID-19 has been difficult for everyone–and probably even more so for dancers.  So much of dance life centers around its social interactions.  Whether it’s the focused attention of a private dance lesson, the camaraderie of a group class, or the shared exuberance of a dance party, dancers miss their dance community as much as their dancing!  We are all anxious to return to dance, the activity we all love so much!

To achieve this, we have to return to the studio in a safe and responsible way. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that is spread through droplets from the mouth or nose by coughing, sneezing, talking and breathing. COVID-19 can be spread asymptomatically. Therefore, we should all assume we have it and can transmit it to others. The severity of the disease seems to be related to the viral load. Masks, social distancing and proper hygiene are all essential and effective ways to help lessen this load. Listed below are the policies and guidelines we’ve adapted to ensure a safer environment. The health of our students and teachers is our top priority.

We will be adhering to Mississippi’s requirements for safe operation:

  • Hand sanitizer available at the entrance and on tables throughout the studio.
  • Face coverings for instructors in direct contact with students.
  • Instructors will sanitize and/or wash hands between students.
  • Everyone must sanitize and/or wash hands when entering and exiting the building.
  • No one with a fever or COVID-19 symptoms may enter the building.
  • Regular deep cleaning and sanitizing of the studio.
  • We have arranged the tables and chairs for social distancing.

For private lessons:

Only one customer/couple per teacher is allowed in the dance studio at any given time. Customers must wear a face covering while inside at all times.

Private Dance Lesson

For wedding lessons:

Wedding lessons work just like private dance lessons. One customer/couple per teacher in the studio. Customers must wear a mask during the lesson.

Wedding Dance Lesson

For group classes:

Individuals/couples must maintain a minimum of a 6-foot distance from other individuals/couples. No one will be required to rotate partners. Reservations are required to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

For parties:

Unfortunately we are still unable to resume our regular Friday night parties! We will be having smaller practice sessions. These sessions will be Fridays 8:00-9:00 PM. Students taking private lessons or attending group classes during the week may attend. Reservations are required in order to limit attendance to safe numbers.

If you are ready to get back to dancing, we would love to have you back in the studio!
