Sean-nos Irish Dance

Sean-nos dancing is considered by many to be the original form of solo Irish dance.  Literally translating to “old style,” sean-nos is an improvised dance style that is completely unique to each dancer.  Dancers interpret the music through low-to-the-floor percussive movements.

Influenced by her recent MA studies, this workshop will focus on the solo battering steps commonly found in the Set dance tradition in South West Clare.  Dancers of all levels are welcome to attend.  Please wear hard soled shoes (no taps) and bring a notebook or recording device.
